Obituary for CLEMENTS

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Monday June 14, 2010

Edward G. Clements. The Lord reached out His hand and said, "It's time to come Home." On Wednesday, June 9, 2010, Edward G. "Ted" Clements went home with his Heavenly Father after valiantly fighting his short battle with cancer. He passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Born in London, England, Ted immigrated to the USA after graduating from Willesden Technical College with an Electrical Engineering Degree in August 1957. He proudly became a U.S. citizen and served in the U.S. Air Force. Ted was honorably discharged from the Air Force in November 1964 and immediately began his long, distinguished career in federal government service at Kirtland Air Force, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Ted is survived by his loving wife Leolani; children Cherylann (John) Tamashiro, Belinda (Sue) Kent, Benita (Efren) Kent-Parado, Bernadette (David) Rivard, Bethrenee (Stacey) Suda, Patrick (Melanie) Clements, Paticia (John) Horsman, Jeffrey Clements, and daughter-in-law Kathy Clements; 20 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; sisters Pamela Ferry and Patricia (Dennis) Whiting in England; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. The family extends their thanks to Pat Bruce, Richard McKain, and Elsie & Elden Okino for the loving care they provided to Ted; James & Luann DeWoody for the wonderful treats received throughout this time; to all the health care professionals who helped us in the last six months especially Doctors Fumakinawa and Womack, Valley View Medical Center ER personnel and Nursing Staff, Always Better Care (Sue & Max), and everyone at New Hope Hospice (especially Toni and Lenora). A Memorial Reception Service will be held at 6:00 pm, Thursday, June 17, 2010, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at Del Norte Baptist Church Conference Center (5800 Montgomery Blvd NE). In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Socity (ACS) in Ted's memory. You may provide ACS with Leolani's address (P.O. Box 32640, Laughlin NV 89028). Waiting for you to be our "Tour Guide" on the other side. We love and miss you so, Edward G./Dad!!!
