Delbert Orton Smith III, 64, passed away May 15, 2010 at home in Fort Myers, FL. Born May 17, 1945, Albuquerque, NM. Known as "Dee or Papa Del" to family and friends. Del attended Valley High School in Alb., NM, graduated Riverside Military Academy, Gainesville, GA. Served proudly in the U.S. Navy as a Naval jet engine mechanic, Vietnam era. Del was a cabinet maker for most of his life and security officer prior to his early retirement in 2008. A member of the Moose Lodge and life time member of the V.F.W. Survived by his loving family including wife Mary of Fort Myers, FL; daughters, Stephany Smith of Denver, CO. Carolyn (Larry) Lusk and Brenda (Michael) Horsley of Cape Coral, FL; and son Robert Smith of Keenewick, WA; grandchildren, Ashleigh, Arron, Zachery, Heaven and Keith; sisters, Barbara Smith of Belen, NM and Ardith Bratton (Sonny) of Phoenix, AZ.
