They spent the early years of their lives in South Carolina while Carlos proudly served his country during WWII. When the war was over, they returned home to New Mexico. She loved and cherished her grandchildren, always responding to their needs before her own. In giving of herself to others, she found the true joy of living. She loved to have a table full of company and her home was always open. Later in life, she began working at New Futures School. She continued her nurturing care of children while at New Futures until her retirement in 1998.
