Peter James Buchanan was born in Elgin, Illinois April 8, 1957. He passed away in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Wednesday, May 26, 2010. Peter was an avid outdoorsman who liked to hike, backpack, ski, and camp. He loved his dog, Cheyenne. Peter was preceded in death by his father, Robert D. Buchanan. He is survived by his mother, Mary E. Buchanan of Albuquerque; sister, Kim Buchanan and husband, Jacque DeKervor, of New Zealand; two brothers, Dennis Buchanan of Yosemite, CA and Glenn Buchanan of Albuquerque, NM; nephew, Loren Peabody; as well as other family and friends who loved and will miss him. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5311 Phoenix NE., near San Mateo and Menaul, on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 8:15 a.m. Private Family Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Kaseman Presbyterian Hospice Inpatient Unit, 8300 Constitution NE, Abq, NM 87110.
