Dolores Mae Baetge Short left this life on May 14, 2010 in Conroe, Texas. She was born on November 18, 1927 in New Braunfels, Texas, and married Gerald R. Short on October 23, 1945. Dolores is survived by four children: Arthur Bernard Short of Joplin, Missouri, Gerry Lynn Miller of Conroe, Texas, Johnnie Blaze Short of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Kim Short of Conroe, Texas; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband Gerald R. Short; parents Arthur Baetge and Ella Marie Kanz Baetge; brothers Roland Baetge and Gil Baetge; sisters, Lola Vogel, Laura Schertz, Oteal Vordenbaum, and Norma Day; and two granddaughters, Amber Short and Stacy Short. Earlier in her life, Dolores had been very active in Scouts, P.T.A., and owned and operated various businesses. She was a past member of the Social Order of the Beauceants; and a member of Yucca Temple No. 74, Daughters of the Nile, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Arrangements entrusted to Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis, TX. A Graveside Service officiated by Dave McFadden was held Saturday, May 15, 2010 in Willis, Texas.
