Obituary for CHAVEZ

Elias E. Chavez, 85, went to be with our Lord on Friday, May 14, 2010. He is survived by his loving wife, Josie M. Chavez; his children, Catherine Trujillo and husband Victor, Elias A. Chavez and wife Annette, Darlene Chavez, Mark Chavez and wife Anja; his grandchildren, Denise Salas, Regina Trujillo, Victor Trujillo, Vincent Trujillo, April Chavez, Yvette Chavez, Paul Alderete Jr., Eddilberto Alderete, Ben Chavez, Mariano Chavez, Damian Chavez and Alina Chavez; his great-grandchildren, Isaak Salas, Marissa Salas, Lilianna Salas, Ramon Avila IV, Mariah Avila, Raul Avila, Isabella Trujillo, Vincent Trujillo Jr., Elias X Chavez, Miguel Chavez, Lorenzo Chavez, Jose Navarrete, Alyah Lucero, Fernando Castillano, Joseph Alderete and Jacob Alderete; his brother, James Chavez; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews as well as many other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. Elias honorably served his country and retired from the US Army. Elias was a Veteran of the Korean War and Asiatic Pacific Theater Victory WWII, and American Theater. His smile warmed hearts and touched souls. Elias will live for evermore in both our hearts and memories and in God's Eternal Light. The Chavez Family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, phone calls and loving support at this most difficult time. A Memorial Service will be held at Legacy Church, 7201 Central SW, on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. with US Army Honors.
