Martin E. Shelton, 85, of Albuquerque NM, went to be with his lord and savior on May 8, 2010. He was born Sept 29, 1924 in Dahlgren, Illinois to Robert Frank and Flossie Madelyn Shelton. He is survived by his wife Eleanor (Chavez) of Albuquerque, whom he married Oct 28, 1947. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his five sons and daughter in law: Gary and (Evelyn) Shelton of Dahlgren, Illinois, Jim Shelton of Albuquerque, Dennis Shelton of Albuquerque, Brad Shelton of Albuquerque, and Rod Shelton of Seattle, WA. He also is survived by five grandsons Timothy Shelton of Albuquerque, Thomas Shelton of Albuquerque, Gary and (Karen) Shelton of Chicago, Illinois, Matthew Shelton of Albuquerque and Jordan Shelton of Albuquerque. Martin joined the US Navy in 1942 and served his country in the Pacific during WWII until the close of the war in 1945. All those who knew him, would attest that he was a great husband, a loving father, beloved grandfather and the most loyal friend anyone could ever ask for. Martin expressed his charming personality through his charismatic wit, jovial good nature and a resolute faith in the Almighty. Because of his belief in the absolute power of faith and his reverence for the Lord, he will greatly be missed, but eternally blessed. Final viewing will be held at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Friday May 14, 2010, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM, officiated by Pastor Dan Lewis and Deacon Andrew Chavez of Albuquerque.
