James E. Mayer, age 88 of Albuquerque, passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2010. A U.S. Army Veteran during WWII, he graduated from The University of California with two masters degrees and continued to work in his field of development with Los Alamos Labs and Karsten Homes. He enjoyed golfing and was dedicated to his family. Survived include his wife, Erlinda Montano; children, Jeff and wife Ruby and Miguel and wife Jeanette Mayer, Dawn Montano, Florencio Reza and Dennis, Josette and Debora Montano; grandchildren, Jeremiah and wife Amy Mayer, Geno Montano, Christophur Montano, Alejandro Garcia, Michael and Ernie Herrara; great grandchildren, Micky Herrera, Isaac and Isaiah Mayer and James Montano; sister, Alice Erdman and nephews, Mark Gary and Terry Fauteck. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Tina Mayer, sister Janet and brother Walter. A Memorial Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday May 13, 2010 at Risen Savior Catholic Church. Family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m., all at Daniels Family Funeral Service, Wyoming Chapel.
