Carl Grace, 90, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, May 2, 2010. He passed away peacefully at his home with his long time sweetheart near his side. Carl was born in 1919 in St. Joseph, MO and was one of four kids. He married Jean Grace in 1938, whom he met on a blind date in 1935. After nearly 72 years of marriage he loved her as much with his last breath as he did the first time they met. Carl served proudly in the US Navy during WWII, was a magistrate judge in Illinois and retired from the US Forestry Service in Albuquerque. He was known by his family as "Paw" and loved by everyone who came in contact with him. He loved the Lord, adored his family and lived every day serving others. He is survived by his wife, Jean Grace; his eldest daughter, Bonnie Carter; his youngest daughter, Linda Lester and his son-in-law Phil Lester. He has four grandkids; and seven great- grandchildren all whom he loved dearly. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. Solar Villa Apartments - 1135 Texas St. NE.
