Fannie. The funeral service for Fannie Purvis, 87, of Albuquerque, NM who died Tuesday, April 20, 2010 will be conducted Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Jones will officiate. Interment will follow in Bloodworth Cemetery, Taylor County, GA at 2:00 p.m. A native of Darlinton, SC, Mrs. Purvis had resided in Albany since 1954 until moving to Albuquerque in 2002. She was a retired bookkeeper for Dr. William (Bill) Bays. Mrs. Purvis was a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church and a member of Joy Sunday School Class. She was also a member of Daughters of The American Revolution, The United Daughters of The Confederacy and was an Emeritus member of the Order of The Eastern Star Crepe Myrtle Chapter #163. Survivors include, two sons, James Wayne Purvis of Albuquerque, NM, Terry Neal Purvis of Spring, TX; three grandsons, Bryan Purvis and his wife, Mona of Albuquerque, NM, James Neal Purvis of Ft. Hood, TX and Paul Andrew Purvis of Houston, TX; three great-grandchildren, Brannon Purvis, Leandra Victoria Purvis and Jonathan Purvis. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the service time at Mathews Funeral Home.
