Kate (Uma) Valencia, 103, Kate's long journey of life ended peacefully on Saturday, April 10, 2010. Kate would have celebrated her 104th birthday next month. She was preceded in death by her husband Phillip Valencia, and daughters Melita Sanchez and Sophie Ruth Valencia. Kate is survived by one son, Gil Valencia and wife, Kathy; son-in-law Ambrosio Sanchez; five grandchildren: Ricardo and wife, Lori Sanchez, Carmel Sanchez Busby and husband, Ross, Phil Sanchez and wife, Corinne, Veronica Valencia, Craig Gilcrease, Valerie Armijo and husband, Diego; two nieces: Margaret Sandoval and Cecelia Cuneo; six great-grandchildren: Jack and Elizabeth Sanchez, Kathryn and Julia Busby, Kevin Sanchez, and Christian and Caden Armijo. A Rosary service will be held on Tuesday, April 13 at 7:00 P.M. at French Mortuary on University. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, April 14 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW. Kate will be laid to rest next to her husband and daughter at Mt.
