Audrey Jean Martin, age 81, was a resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1955, she died Sunday, March 28, 2010 in Denver, CO. A. Jean (Burling) Martin was a dedicated wife, mother, Meema, and great-grandmother and friend. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, W. Carroll Martin; daughter, Carolyn S. Martin; grandson, Demian H. Martin; parents, Charles F. and Jane Burling and; by five brothers and four sisters of Alpine, TX. She is survived by her brother, Jerry Burling and wife, Patricia of Amarillo, TX; daughter, Cheryl Jean Glauner of Albuquerque, NM; sons, Rodney L. Martin and wife, Alice of Denver, CO, and Creston M. Martin, M.D. and wife, Bonnie of St. Cloud, MN; grandchildren: Angella Martin and Dre Gooding with son, Tyson of San Diego, CA; Jason and Jessica Martin with children, Marissa, Ally and Ryan of Denver, CO; Carly and Matt George with son Owen of Albuquerque, NM; Gerrod and Robin Glauner with children, Bradley and Bridget of Martinsburg, West Virginia; and granddaughters, Paige Martin, Kaitlin Martin and Madison Martin of St. Cloud, MN; Sheri Karjala, and her children Jacob and Faith Martin of Exeter, CA. She is also survived by her close friends, Dr. Morris and Jodi Chapman of Franklin, TN; Jim and Ruth Sills of Eulses, TX; and George and Lucille Stevens of Albuquerque, NM. Jean Martin attended First Baptist Church, Albuquerque for over 50 years where she served on the Finance Committee and the Pastor Search Committee for many years. She also worked at the University of New Mexico in the Music Department. Eventually she became owner and Vice-President of Martin Group Administration Services (Health Care) where she retired in 1991. Jean and her husband were New Mexico Parents of the Year in 1997. Friends may visit with Audrey Jean Martin's family on Thursday, April 1, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at French - University Location. Funeral services will be Friday, April 2, 2010, 2:00 p.m., at French - University Chapel with Pastor Morris Chapman officiating and internment at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menual Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Jerry Burling, Cris Martin, Rod Martin, Gerrod Glauner, Jason Martin, Matt George and George Stevens.
