Marybelle Kathleen English, born Marybelle Kathleen Boston on October 26, 1926, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2010. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold R. English. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl English Maxham, and her husband, Richard Maxham, of Alameda, CA, her sons Richard B. English and his wife, Tamera of Albuquerque and Robert D. English of San Diego, CA, her grand-daughter Jennifer English, her brother Jim Boston and his wife Emma of Virginia Beach, VA and her nephew Bruce Boston and his wife, Dianna of Fenton, MO., and many other extended nieces and nephews. Marybelle was born in Centralia, Il, to Thad and Bessie Boston. She and Harold were married on February 14, 1948 in Niagara Falls, NY. They lived in Centralia until 1959 when they relocated to Las Cruces, NM. They successfully ran a small motel the Dona Ana Court until 1978 when they retired and both became active with the Masons, Eastern Star and Beauseant. She was president of Beauseant in 1990 and 1996. Marybelle was active for many years in the Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce and she was twice president of the Las Cruces Women's Club and an active member of St. Paul's Methodist Church. She moved to Fairwinds Rio Rancho in 2003 to be near her son Richard and his family. Marybelle had a wonderful sense of humor and was adventurous and curious about life. She loved the mountains, wading in mountain streams, picnics, and taking long walks. She was an avid reader and loved all books. She was beloved by her family and many friends and will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a gift to the American Cancer Society, National Cancer Research Center or your local Hospice. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 3:00PM at La Paz Grahams Funeral Home, 555 W. Amador Ave., Las Cruces, NM 88005.
