Mary Ida Matteucci born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on December 8, 1918, died on March 23, 2010. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Albert John Matteucci, her parents, Emma and Antonio Domenici, and three brothers, Tony Domenici, Lawrence Domenici, and Robert Domenici. She was a descendant of early Italian settlers in our state. The Giomi family came to Albuquerque in 1888 and the Domenici family came in 1906. Ida was an accomplished pianist and artist, having studied piano in Italy and art at St. Vincent's Girls Academy. She also loved gardening, cooking and sewing. She is survived by her three children Albert Jerome Matteucci of Dumfries, Virginia, Tony Matteucci of Valley Village, California and Michelle Marie Matteucci of Albuquerque; She also leaves two grandsons, Drake Matteucci of Philadelphia and Seth Matteucci of Valley Village, California who were the love of her life; She is also survived by two brothers, George and Charlie Domenici; two sisters, Theresa Menicucci and husband Mario, and Lilly Tomasi and husband John all of Albuquerque; She also leaves sisters-in-law, Catherine Domenici of Albuquerque and Francis Domenici of Altanta, Georgia. She leaves many nieces and nephews. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church, 8901 Candelaria Rd. NE, with Monsignor Francis X. Eggert as celebrant.
