John H. Rohrer, a resident of Albuquerque for 43 years, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at the Rehabilitation Center of Albuquerque. He was born January 18, 1928, the youngest child of Howard and Margaret Bunce Rohrer of Saylor Park (Cincinnati), Ohio. After graduating from high school, he received a Bachelor of Music degree from the Cincinnati College of Music. His career as a pianist began at age 9 and continued through life. He played on a Delta Queen River boat until he was drafted and sent to Germany as a chaplain's assistant. When discharged, he and two musicians formed a trio called, "The Diplomats." After Paul's death, John became the owner of the store. During that time, he married Betty Sheaffer and adopted her two girls, Lori and Victoria. Fourteen years later, the marriage ended and John sold Muench Music. In 1988, John met Barb Border and married her in March of 1989. He worked for Riedling Music until he retired in 1992. John and Barb later moved to Montana to care for Barb's mother for nine years. In 2005, they moved back to Albuquerque to be near family. John was a happy, fun, jolly person who loved people; he had a very warm sense of humor and was deeply concerned about the needs of others. John had many hobbies that enabled him to bring joy to friends and family; he enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, painting, reading Scripture, playing piano daily and spending time with his kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
