Yukie Patricia Yackanich, 80, passed Monday, March 8, 2010. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Demetrius J. Yackanich of Tijeras; children Gabriel E. Yackanich and wife, Susan of New York, NY, Demetrius J. Yackanich III and wife, Rita of Staten Island, NY and Karen Takai of Tijeras, NM; grandchildren Mark Yackanich and wife Natalie, great-granddaughter Hana Yackanich of Hoboken, NJ and Danielle Castioni of Tijeras, NM. Yukie was owner of Fuji Japanese Restaurant of NYC from 1967 to January 1999. Friends may visit the family at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Byzantine Catholic Church, 1837 Alvarado NE (Constitution and Indian School), Wednesday, March 17, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Prayer services will follow from 7:00-7:30 p.m.. Final Services will be held Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Gabriel Yackanich, Demetrius Yackanich III, Mark Yackanich and Louis Castioni.
