Catherine "Cathy" L. Schlegel, 61, joined the Lord March 7, 2010. She is survived by her daughter Alex L. Schlegel of Fort Worth, Texas; brother, Dr. Douglas Brutlag and wife Simone of Menlo Park, CA; nephew Benjamin; and niece Pauline; and several other family including her cousins Paul, Larry, Alan, Bernadine Brutlag; and many friends. Cathy was preceded in death by her parents Minehart and Cora Brutlag; former husband and best friend William "Bill" Schlegel. To all those that knew her, Cathy was a generous, loving, passionate, artistic, and exuberant woman. She was a loyal friend and loving mother who possessed an infectious laugh and a shining smile. She lived most of her life in Albuquerque, moved to Fort Worth, Texas several years ago and recently returned to Albuquerque. She loved to golf, enjoy fine food, travel, and playing with her kitty, Autumn. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
