Elvira "Vera" Zamora, 92, a resident of Albuquerque since 1945, went to be with the Lord surrounded by her beloved family on Thursday, March 4, 2010. She is survived by her daughters, Josephine Chavez and husband, Robert, Magdalena Garcia and husband, Vivian, Eleanor Armijo and husband, J.D all of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Zamora was preceded in death by her husband Miguel Zamora, son Michael Zamora, daughter Maryanne Garcia and grandson Michael Zamora, Jr. Vera was born and raised in Santa Fe and was a longtime resident of Alameda. Her life was dedicated to her family and to her faith. A rosary will be recited Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 9502 4th St. NW. Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Russell Garcia, Mark Chavez, Jaime Soto Sr., Jaime Soto Jr., Christopher Garcia and Julian Garcia. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tony Cohill, George Rivera, Gabriel Gabaldon, Julian Garcia, Jr., Perfecto Zamora and David Rodriguez (Decd).
