Don Rice, 71, born in Jamestown, NY and formally of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, February 23 from an injury sustained at his gym from lifting extreme weight that caused damage to his heart. Don was owner/operator of Piano Gallery at the Mesilla Valley Mall and later located on Telshor Blvd. He had retired over a year ago. He was an accomplished musician and was teaching piano, organ, trumpet and guitar. Survivors include his wife, Rosalie; brother Dave, Albuquerque; son Damon, Boise, ID; daughter, Leah, Oregon; five grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and three stepchildren. His remains will be scattered in the mountains east of Albuquerque at a place that was very special to him.
