Patricia Moehrig Mershon, 86, passed away February 22, 2010, at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, CO. She was born October 26, 1923, in New Haven, CT, to Alexander and Elsie Moehrig. Patricia spent the past 3 1/2 years residing in Albuquerque, NM. Patricia graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Science Degree and was awarded a PhD from the University and served as a Professor of Pediatrics at the UNM School of Medicine from 1968 to 1975. Later, she resided in Southern Germany and worked as a Program Manager with the Department of Defense at Schwabish Hall and Munich, Germany. Patricia served as a Director of Special Services at Kennedale ISD, retiring in 1988 to conduct a private practice in Speech Pathology. Her post-doctoral education included the University of Maryland at Schwabish Hall, Boston State University at Chimsee, Germany, as well as Goethe Institute. Patricia also studied at TWU in Denton. Patiricia is survived by her sons, Samuel Alexander Mershon, Thomas Adams (Nancy) Mershon, and William Flint Mershon (Paula Tietjen); daughter, Anne Katherine (Bill) Hughes; and grandchildren, Paul and Ruth Hughes, Elizabeth Bozhilov, John Mershon, and James Snevily. Services will be held at a later date at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX, where Patricia will be laid to rest next to her husband, Samuel.
