Obituary for CLINCH

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday February 28, 2010

John, the indomitable spirit of John Clinch, 81, left this world on Friday, February 26th. The family wishes to thank Dr. Damara Kaplan for giving us fifteen more months to enjoy his humor and wit. He passed as he lived, stubborn and determined to do it his way. Margaret, his loving wife and soul mate of 60 years will dearly miss his total devotion and dynamic personality. As will his caring family, son, Pete Clinch and wife, Arlene, of Albuquerque and their daughters, Bianca and Tanisha, husband Matthew and their daughter, Mercedes. Daughter, Wendy Harms, husband, Ian, of Laguna Niguel, CA their daughter Lisa, husband Kenneth and their children Marcus, Jake, and Benjamin, daughter Dayl , husband Scott and their children Mikayla, Kendall, Nathan, and Halle; son, Kevin Clinch, partner Elena of Coventry, England, his children Jamie, Sean, and Ben. Daughter, Tracy Delarosa, husband Art of San Diego, CA, their daughters, Devon, Kaley, husband Aaron. Brothers, Ian, of Canada and Roger Clinch; sister Judy Parry, husband Philip, all of England. In addition his life was enriched by extended family Maureen, Drue, Jon, Terry, Rachael, Stephanie, Loula, and Josh. John was born in Abingdon, England, but will be returning per his wishes to his beloved Coventry, England where he and Margaret resided until 1981 when they moved to Albuquerque. His passion for British "anything" was strengthened by his employment at the Jaguar plant in Coventry, and most recently at Malloy Jaguar where he spent quality time with the cars he loved with a passion. He was also a British sports fanatic. He and Margaret were present at many of Albuquerque Academy and Rio soccer matches that his son, Pete, coached. He was a proud member of the British Car Club of Albuquerque. His family and friends will miss his charisma, intelligence, stoicism, and dyed in the wool English patriotism. A Celebration of Life memorial will be held at Reflections Funerals and Life Celebrations (2400 Washington St NE) Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers please donate to Hospice of New Mexico, 4015 Carlisle NE, Suite E 87107 as they made his departure from earth comfortable with outstanding care and dedication.
