Obituary for MILLER

Rudy B. Miller, 82, of Rio Rancho, passed away February 4, 2010. Rudy was born in Windfall, Indiana. He received his Bachelors degree from Canterbury College in Danville, Indiana. Rudy taught High School Mathematics in Indiana until 1957, when he moved his family to Albuquerque, where he again taught High School Mathematics at Highland, Sandia, West Mesa and Eldorado High Schools. During this time he received his Master's Degree in Mathematics Education from the University of New Mexico. Rudy was instrumental in planning and developing the Computer Education Program for the Albuquerque Public Schools, helping to integrate computer technology into the entire school curriculum. He retired from APS in 1986. Rudy and his wife of over sixty years, Mary Jo, traveled extensively. He dearly loved teaching and inspiring his students. He also enjoyed playing tennis. Rudy is survived by his wife, Mary Jo; son Bruce Miller and his wife, Debbie; son David Miller and his wife, Patricia; five grandchildren, Kyle, Sean, Jessica, Jon and Joanna; and a great-granddaughter, Natalie. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Dick and Dale Miller and is survived by his brothers Keith and Ronald Miller. A memorial service will be planned for the end of February.
