Edward Marcus, 91, passed away January 30, 2010 at Princeton Place where he had been a resident for four year. He was born September 18, 1918 in Glen Cove, Long Island, New York. Ed was an Army retiree of 23 years, retiring in 1966. While in the Army he was captured in Germany and was a P.O.W. for six months before he and other soldiers were liberated. He and his wife, Mary, returned to Albuquerque where he worked at Creamland until retiring from there. He lost his wife Mary in 1981. He kept a garden, flower beds, fed the birds and captured children's hearts by keeping a steady supply of soda and candy. He and Maria married in 1988. Soon after, they joined 7th. Armored Division and traveled yearly to Association gatherings. They enjoyed these trips making new friends and, Ed running into some old Army buddies. Soon, Ed's health prevented them from continuing these trips. He spent days at the VA, playing pool, watching TV and other activities. He had lost his parents, brothers and sisters. He is survived his wife Maria; stepchildren, William and his wife, Willie Mora; Eileen and her husband Cliff Daniel and Air Force retiree MSGT Anita L. He had a very active life, enjoying the casino, seeing the Dukes play and the horse races. Sleep well Ed, your days of pain are over and you'll meet again with your family, which I know you will treasure. Lord grant him eternal peace.
