Paul J. Burgess SFC Ret. took a walk with the Lord on January 21, 2010 after a long battle with cancer. Paul was born on September 13, 1927 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth A. Whitney; his son CMSgt Paul D. Burgess and his wife Sherri Riley and their daughter, Carly Burgess; two nephews, David P. Griffiths, and his companion Anageline Doucet, and Thomas P. Griffiths, wife Doreen M. Thimot. He was preceded by his father, Fredrick J. Burgess, his mother Mary C. Doucette, brothers, Joseph T. Burgess and Neil J. Burgess and sisters, Ann M. Bonin of Little Brook, Nova Scotia and May M. Troendle of Somerville, Massachusetts. Paul was a long time resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico and a member of the The Shrine of Saint Bernadette Catholic Church 11401 Indian School Road NE. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. preceded by the Rosary at 8:00 a.m. at the church Committal will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date.
