She grew up on family ranches in several small NE New Mexico communities. Bobbye graduated from Clayton High School in 1936 and earned her teaching certificate from Eastern New Mexico College in 1938. Her career spanned 42 years, mostly with Albuquerque Public Schools. She was one of the first Homebound teachers, led teen study tours around the globe and earned two Masters' degrees before retiring in 1983. Bobbye is preceded in death by William F. (Bill) Pittard, her husband of 61 years. She is survived by her daughter, Billye Coey and husband Joe of Rio Rancho, and her son Q. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers Sorority for over 50 years and an active member of the Retired Teachers Association. She will be deeply missed by her large family, including many nieces and nephews and their families, her friends, neighbors, and colleagues. We are grateful to Presbyterian Home Hospice, her excellent in-home caregivers, and the many friends and family members who gave such fantastic support over the last year.
