Joan Lee Gieseking, born April 28, 1929, passed away on January 11, 2010. The family is comforted to know she fell asleep in the arms of the Lord. Joan was a loving wife; mother; grandmother; great-grandmother; aunt and friend. She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Gieseking Gordon and her husband, Gary Gordon of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Jeff Gordon of Plano, Texas, Rebecca Gordon Rockwell and her husband, Richard Rockwell of Little Elm, Texas, Katie Gordon Stadler and her husband, Matthew Stadler of Fort Worth, Texas; great-grandchildren, William G. Stadler and Caroline E. Rockwell. Joan is also blessed with two sister-in-laws, Mil Duesenberg of Fort Worth, Texas and Dorothy Kuenker and her husband, Ralph Kuenker of St. Louis Missouri along with many nieces and nephews. Joan was born in Kansas City, Kansas, married her beloved and devoted husband of 55 years, Edwin W. Gieseking, who preceded her in death. Together they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where they lived for 35 years. Joan was an employee of the Albuquerque Public Schools where she worked at Eldorado High School. They were long time members of Christ Lutheran Church in Albuquerque. Friends may visit French Mortuary located at 10500 Lomas N.E. from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2010. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Christ Lutheran Church located at 7701 Candelaria Road N.E. with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
