Joanne Bixby was born July 16, 1931 in Newcomerstown, Ohio. She was welcomed into heaven on the morning of Tuesday, January 12, 2010. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bill Bixby; daughter, Linda Jones and husband, Ron of Veguita, NM; son, Bill Bixby of Los Lunas, NM; daughter, Sandra Smith and husband, Gary of La Luz,NM; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She moved to the Land of Enchantment with family in 1968. They became active members of the Peralta Methodist Church. They were also members of the NM Gold Club and enjoyed prospecting throughout NM. In her younger days she liked horseback riding, fishing, and camping. Even throughout her long struggle with pain she always clung to her faith in Jesus and maintained her sense of humor and joy of family. She was loved by many and was a blessing to all who knew her. A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2010, 10:00 a.m. at the Peralta Memorial United Methodist Church.
