Obituary for MOHORIC

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Wednesday January 13, 2010

Frank Edward Mohoric, 1922-2010, was the son of Yugoslavian immigrants, Blaz and Rosa Mohoric who came to the USA seeking a better life for their family and settled in Tooele, Utah. Frank was born on October 29, 1922 and had one older sister, Josephine. The family brought with them their faith and many of the traditions and knowledge of small farming which helped the family survive those early years. Frank met his lifelong love and wife of over 64 years, Carolyn Louise Crowder, in Salt Lake City where they both attended the University of Utah. Frank was drafted in World War II following his sophomore year and became a sergeant in the Army's 82nd Airborne. He was a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge. When Frank returned from the war, he and Carolyn married and he completed his degree in Business Administration at University of Utah. Frank and Carolyn moved to Pueblo, Colorado where their first children Mike and Scott were born. They moved the family to Albuquerque in 1951 where Frank joined sales for Mountain Bell Yellow Pages, and traveled the region to become recognized as one of the company's top performers for the next 30 years. Two more children Mark and Shawne, were added to the clan in Albuquerque. Frank and Carolyn joined with several other families to charter the Tennis Club of Albuquerque. The Mohoric family enjoyed tennis, swimming, athletics, and were very active in the Albuquerque community. After retirement, Frank relaxed many afternoons at the Frontier Restaurant with a cup of coffee and newspaper where he enjoyed watching and meeting many people and friends. Frank especially enjoyed watching football and was proud to watch his sons and grandsons play sports. Frank loved spending time in his retirement with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and he and Carolyn traveled extensively. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; sons, Mike and Mark; daughter, Shawne and their spouses; and grandchildren, Shaune, Marcos, Pancho, Mike, Tom, and Nicholas; and great-grandchildren, Arturo, Marianne and Geronimo.
