Barbara Ruth Jenne Murray, age 80, passed away on January 4, 2010. Barbara is survived by her husband, Dr. R. Richard Murray; two daughters, Jane Elizabeth Murray Keeling, husband, Mark, and Judy (Jem) Ellen Murray Costley, husband, Louis; son, Stephen Richard Murray, wife, Audra; nine grandchildren, Allison, Brian Gavin and Jaden Keeling; Joshua, Shaina and Kaela Costley; and Tamara and Tadd Murray; and one great-grandchild, Logan Keeling. Barbara was born July 1, 1929 in Ithaca, New York. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Music from Ithaca College, and a Degree in Piano Performance as an Accompanist from the University of New Mexico (the first such degree warded by UNM). Since coming to New Mexico in 1972, she has been continually active in music and musical theater at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque Civic Light Opera Assn., Albuquerque Little Theater, accompanist for private recitals, and at Central United Methodist church where she was employed for years. Barbara prefers any memorial contributions go to Albuquerque Civic Light Opera, The Music Theater Workshop program at UNM or the charity of your choice. A Celebration Service will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2010, 4:00 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church, 201 University Blvd. NE.
