Obituary for C DE BACA

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday January 10, 2010

Marie C. C de Baca. It was our mom's wish that in the event that she pass away, in another state, that she be returned to NM for burial. On December 27, 2009 the airliner carrying our mom, in her casket, began the landing process and taxied onto the runway, just as the New Mexico skies transitioned into a welcome home sunset for our mama. It was our mama's request to have a closed casket, as she wanted each of you to remember her they way you knew her. Mama also wanted simple services. The lavender floral arrangement was designed in WA, especially for our mama, to honor her February birth month. Our mama loved the scent of lavender and the arrangement was made to compliment the simple yet classic tailored wood casket, which also reflected our mom's taste and personality. Our mom was dressed in her favorite broomstick skirt and a dainty white embroidered blouse. A warm shawl that was in the shades of the NM earth, sky and sun was wrapped around our mom's shoulders for comfort. Thank you to all of our mama's friends that she was blessed with throughout different phases of her lifetime, who were able to attend her services. It was wonderful to have multiple generations of our mama's family in attendance and also the extended family. We appreciate each of you individually, for taking a time out from your busy lives, to come and pay your last respects to our mama and to support her in her transition to eternity. Thank you to those who participated in the services; Deacon Pilar Garcia, Anne C'de Baca, Celeste Miller, Orlando and Roberta Guzman, Boni Mascarena, Lorraine Romero, Cecilia Farris and the Smith Family. Thank you to Funeral Alternatives of WA and Gate of Heaven for your professionalism and care. - God be with you until we meet again. - Pam and Cecilia Condolences may be sent online to: www.funeralalternatives.org
