John Steven Baca Chavez, 33, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on January 3, 2010. John is survived by his mother, Roberta Martinez and husband Larry; his father, Ben Baca and wife, Mary; his fiancee, Desiree Santistevan; two brothers, Larry Martinez Jr. and fiancee Delilah and Jose Martinez; three sisters, Robben Baca, Maureen Baca and Ryan Saul, and Esther Baca and Nick Gallegos; grandparents, Katie Martinez and Carlos, and Odelia Pohl and husband, Benny; his niece, Mariah (Chubbs); his nephew, Anthony; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. John was preceded in death by his grandmother, Erlinda Chavez; and grandfathers, Joe Lucero and John Baca. John was a member of the Catholic Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 6, 2010 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church, 2005 Plaza NW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Samuel Montoya. Final visitation will be Thursday, January 7, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Father Dennis Garcia, presider. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew Chavez, Joey Gallegos, Jason Perez, Carl Garcia, Jonathan Aguilar, and Carlos Gutierrez. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Baca, Larry Martinez Jr., Pete Garcia, Jose Martinez, and Anthony Sena.
