Joseph Rudy Chavez. August 13,1951-December 28, 2009. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. Joseph was a very loving, family oriented man who proudly served his country in the Vietnam War, and retired from the NMDOT. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph Gurule and Jessie Chavez; and his father, Livi Abeyta. Joseph is survived by his wife of 20 years, Caroline Chavez; sons, Noel Chavez and Joseph Chavez; daughters, Nicole Chavez and Crystal Chavez; five grandchildren; mother, Jennie Abeyta; sisters, Marie and husband, Franklin Segura, Carol and husband, Ralph Anaya, Diana and husband, Billy Herrera, Della Chavez and Jim; and many nieces and nephews. A rosary will be held Saturday, January 2, 2010, 12:00 p.m. at St. Augustine Church 71 Tribal Rd. 33 Isleta NM 87022. Burial services will be on Monday, January 4, 2010, 11:30 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
