Obituary for O'NEILL

Helen M. O'Neill, 79, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she was a resident for 37 years. Helen was born September 4, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York to Leo and Bridget Lane, where she resided for 42 years. She was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph's on the Rio Grande Catholic Church and a variety of hospitals. Helen is survived by her husband, retired New York Police Department Lieutenant Joseph O'Neill of 55 years; three children, Kathy Westby, Joe O'Neill Jr. and Brian O'Neill; three grandchildren, Robbie Westby, Dustin Westby, and Alexis O'Neill. Helen was preceded in death by two brothers, William Lane and John Lane. Helen was a loving mother and grandmother. A Rosary will be recited 10:30 AM, Monday, December 28, 2009 at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Boulevard NW, Albuquerque, NM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM. A Reception will follow after the Mass at Desert Greens Country Club, 10035 Country Club Lane NW, Albuquerque, NM. Helen will be interred in the Public Servants Garden in Vista Verde Memorial Park at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in the honor of Helen O'Neill to the Albuquerque Boy's and Girl's Club, 3333 Truman Street NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
