Ruth Greene Mullins, age 84, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2009. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathie Mullins Stroh; son-in-law, Bill Petty, and many friends. Ruth graduated from Tulsa University, where she was crowned Queen of Hearts and Homecoming Queen. She was active in the Kappa Delta Sorority which led to her active involvement in Girl Scouts, Hospital Auxilary, Golf Course Association and many other activities. Ruth also worked for LANL in Los Alamos from 1946 - 1982, intermittently. Ruth is survived by her loving and devoted husband of over 60 years, Lawrence Joseph Mullins of Rio Rancho; daughters, Betty Anne Pacheco of Albuquerque, Shelli Mullins Petty of Los Alamos, and Dottie Mullins of Santa Fe; brother-in-law, Vincent Mullins and wife Barbara; grandson, Major Steve Pacheco and wife Jenny of Hawaii; granddaughters, Denise Stroh Fuqua of Lovinton, NM, Delores Stroh Scharf and husband Justin of Monahan, TX; grandson, Mike Pacheco and wife Adrienne of San Diego, CA; granddaughter, Melanie Petty Romero of Los Alamos; grandsons, Rob Pacheco and wife Ashley, and Richie Petty, all of Albuquerque; she is also survived by eight great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary of Santa Fe; a reception will follow the services. Private burial will take place at the Guaje Pines Cemetery in Los Alamos. Assisting the family as pallbearers are Rob Pacheco, Richie Petty, Mike Pacheco, Denise Fuqua, Delores Scharf, and Melanie Romero. Honorary pallbearers are George Phelps and Vincent Mullins.
