Lydia Buckholdt, 78, a resident of Albuquerque since 1968, died Monday, December 14, 2009. She is survived by her granddaughters, Jennifer Buckholdt and Melissa Kroemer; great-grandson, Christopher Jefferies; daughter-in-law, Linda L. Buckholdt; loving sister-in-law, Betty; and friends. Lydia was preceded in death by her son, William Josef Buckholdt; and her husband, William Goshorn Buckholdt. She was born on August 3, 1931 in Frankfurt, Germany to Josef and Lilly Heninger Wiesmann. Lydia immigrated to the United States in the early fifties. She worked for Albuquerque Public Schools for almost 30 years as a Supply Technician. Lydia was an avid volunteer in her later years. She was a loving grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at French Mortuary-Lomas Branch, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Thursday, December 17, 2009, 10:00 a.m. Interment of cremated remains will take place at a later date at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
