Ione Bergren, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 in Albuquerque, NM after suffering from a long term illness. She was born in Georgetown, IN and was a resident of Albuquerque since 1942. Ione is survived by Irene Jaramillo and husband, Joe and their family; two nieces; and one nephew. Her husband's Kenneth's family, Teri Balfe and husband, Stephen, Nancy Bieber and husband, Allen, Kenneth Bergren Jr, and wife Andi, John Bergren and wife, Margit; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Ione was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Bergren; their only son, Bill Stone; her parents; one brother, Lee Hamby; and one sister, Mary Marcilola. She retired as secretary/treasurer of the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District in 1977 after 26 years of service. Ione was a beautiful, loving, caring and outgoing person, who loved and cherished the people in her life. She will be greatly missed and her memory will never be forgotten.
