Obituary for JORDAN

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday November 29, 2009

Darleen E. Jordan, 91, resident of Rio Rancho, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 25, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Elwood Jordan; her daughter; and her adopted son. She is survived by seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great-grandchildren. Some of the highlights of her life include attending Moody Bible Institute, working in the travel office at Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory, short-term missionary work in Niger, Africa, and the many years of fellowship with Los Alamos Christian Fellowship. She and Elwood lived in Los Alamos for almost 50 years. They were active in Prison Fellowship and Set Free Prison Ministries. Darleen's joy was being able to grade inmates' courses until her 91st year. Yet her greatest treasure, in this world, was the people God brought into her life. She loved, cared and prayed for each of them. Services will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2009, 1:00 p.m. at White Rock Baptist Church, 80 State Road 4, Los Alamos, NM. Interment will follow at Guaje Pines Cemetery, Los Alamos, NM. Should friends desire, please make contributions to Moody Bible Institute, 820 N. LaSalle Blvd., Chicago, IL 60610 or Set Free Prison Ministries, PO Box 1108, Los Alamos, NM 87544. Please visit our online guest book for Darleen at www.RememberTheirStory.com.
