Richard A. Armijo, 60, was called home to our Lord and Savior on Friday, November 13, 2009. Mr. Armijo was born on October 20, 1949 to Louis and Margaret (Cortez) Armijo of Albuquerque, NM. He attended St. Mary's Catholic School and graduated from Albuquerque High School. He was employed by the US Department of Agriculture as a Snow Surveyor. Mr. Armijo enjoyed farming alfalfa on his farm in Veguita, NM. He loved the outdoors and hunting, repairing cars and accumulating car parts. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He is most remembered as a loving father who instilled discipline into his children. He was an excellent provider for his family and made sure each of his children attended and graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School and St. Pius X High School. Mr. Armijo is survived by his wife of 36 years, Rosemary (Ortiz) Armijo; their children, Ricardo (Jenny) Armijo, Ramona M. Armijo, Luis Armijo, Maria Elena Armijo and her special friend, John Padilla, all of Albuquerque, NM; two grandchildren, Gary and Madolyn; parents, Louis and Margaret Armijo; siblings, Louis, Jeanette, Gloria, and Carolyn; Clara and Joe Sandoval; and many nieces and nephews.
