Obituary for JARAMILLO

Jose Gardino, age 80, died peacefully in his sleep on Monday, October 26, 2009. Gardino was preceded in death by his parents, Policarpio and Rufinita Jaramillo and several other brothers and sisters. Gardino was born on April 1, 1929 in El Rito. He was a resident of Simi Valley, California since 1964. He was a Veteran of the Korean War and set up residency in California in 1950. While employed with Hughes Aircraft in California he was instrumental to the success of the first Lunar Landing. Uncle G, as he was fondly named by his nieces and nephews, was loved by his family and community. Mr. Jaramillo is survived by his wife, Edith Jaramillo; son, Mark Jaramillo; daughter, Karen Jaramillo; grandsons, Shain and Jake; brother, Horacio Jaramillo and wife Frances and numerous other relatives and friends. A Rosary service will be held at St John XXIII Catholic Church in Albuquerque, NM on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held in his honor at San Juan Nepomuceno in El Rito, NM at 10:00 AM followed by internment at the El Rito Cemetery.
