Charles Henry Starks, passed away on October 20, 2009 in Canon City, Colorado, he was 89. Chuck, as his friends knew him, was born on August 28, 1920 in Waco, Texas to Charles and Mabel Louise (Carrico). Mr. Starks is survived by his daughter Amy (Jim) Rigney, of Pittsboro, NC; step-son, Don (Carrie) Driver, of Howard, Colorado; Son Fred Starks of Evansville, IL; and step-daughter, Linda (Vernon) Jones of Jasper, Georgia; His grandchildren, Chris (Dawn) Rigney, Eric (Emily) Rigney, Joey Driver, Becky (Daniel) Smith, Miranda Starks, Kyle Starks, Kenneth Jones, and Keith Jones; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Rigney, Bailey, Shawna and Emily Smith, and Julia and Travis Jones. Also survived by brothers-in-law, Walter (Bernice) Cole of Albuquerque and Bob (Deb) Wilson of Sun City, Arizona; nephews, Gary, Bryce, and Robert Cole, and niece, Vanessa. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gloria; and grandson Richard Driver. Services for Mr. Starks will be held next July in Santa Fe at the National Cemetery.
