Elvira "Vera" Pena, 77, resident of Albuquerque, formerly of Vaughn, NM, passed on to a better life Friday, October 30, 2009 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Albert Pena; son, Arturo Pena and wife, Edna of Taos; and daughter, Yvonne Chisholm and husband, Ken of Lake Mary, FL. She is also survived by grandchildren, Janell, Theresa, Michelle, Steven, Jimmy, Randall, and Jessica; seven great-granchildren; and her sister, Mary Carrasco. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Priscilla F. Garcia, parents, Theodora and Guadalupe Lucero, one sister, and four brothers. Vera was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all her family. Services will be held Tuesday, November 3, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, Westside Chapel. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service.
