Obituary for EDWARDS

Wayne C. Edwards passed away peaceful with his wife and best friend of 13 years, Arlene Edwards, at his side on October 22, 2009 after a 2 year battle with ALS. He was born August 13, 1946 in Havre de Grace, Maryland and served in the Air Force from 1965-1969. Wayne was a successful business man that worked in 60 different countries. He was also a consultant in Albuquerque, NM for 15 years. Wayne loved many things in life. He was a beautiful singer and loved music of all sorts. He was a wine connoisseur that loved great food and wonderful company. He was always the life of the party and ready to take the microphone in a heartbeat.although, he would tell you he was shy and hated the limelight. What a kidder he was! He loved life itself and a good laugh. He was an avid reader and traveler who knew something about everything. His happiest times were spent on family vacations and showing his wife the wonders of the world. He loved to see her face light up as they toured Italy and many other places. He was someone you could confide in and trust that he would give you good and logical advice. Proceeded in death by his parents, Wayne, Sr and Gladys Edwards; and brother, Fred Edwards. Wayne is survived by his wife Arlene; daughters Angel and Bonnie Chavez; grandchildren Gabriel and Imani Chavez and Brittany Gethman; brothers David Edwards, his wife Yvette Edwards and family, Steven Edwards and Rick Edwards; and a sister Norma Valentine. He is also survived by Albert Gonzales and family, Rick Gonzales and family, Steve Gonzales and family, Efrene Gonzales and family, Ralph Gonzales and family, Jason Gonzales and family, Rosita Saenz and family. He will never be forgotten by multitudes of very special friends that he held near and dear to his heart from New Mexico to Europe to Australia. Throughout this illness Wayne kept his faith, humor, and strength. What a wonderful man! He will truly be missed and always loved. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at 139 Carrizo Canyon Road Ruidoso, NM.
