He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins and great nieces and great nephews. Kim was born on January 17, 1951 in Yankton, SD. He was the son of Howard and Mary Perdue of Midway, KY. He moved to Albuquerque in 1965 where he graduated from Sandia High School in 1969. He attended Texas Tech University on a football scholarship and went on to graduate from UNM with an MBA. Kim worked as an assistant supervisor and supervisor of Palo Duro Senior Center, and then spent 22 years as senior network coordinator, handling administration of all senior centers, meal sites and health and wellness programs. He served as director of the Department of Senior Affairs until retiring in 2004. In 2002, Kim was honored with the "Outstanding Achievement of a Professional in the Service of Seniors" award by the New Mexico Conference on Aging. In 2009, Kim was honored by Silver Horizons with a "Special Achievement Award" for his service to the community and his work with Senior Citizens. Kim helped open six senior centers and expanded the Senior Olympics program. He had a true understanding and passion for working with seniors. The sorrow in Kim's passing can be diminished by the joy that his many friends and family experienced by spending time with him enjoying sports, golfing, hunting, fishing, gardening, and traveling. Kim strived for perfection with everything he did from home projects to his golf game. Kim was his nieces and nephews "favorite uncle". He took great pleasure in getting them all stirred up and leaving their parents to take care of them. Kim loved God, his family and his life. He will be sorely missed by his wife, family and friends.
