Edward J. Geis, 72, resident of Rio Rancho, former resident of Phoenix, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at home surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife, Bertha Geis; children, Jenifer Larsen and husband, Bob, Catherine Wright and husband, Brian, Edward Geis and wife, Deana, Patricia Cossette and husband, Mitchell, Bradley "Butch" Geis and wife, Chris, Johnny Wells and wife, Norma, Randy Wells and Marty, Rex Wells and wife, Lydia, and Vince Matheson and wife, Shawna; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; mother, Catherine Geis; brother, Robert Geis and wife, Anna Mae; nieces, Robin and Gayle; and nephew, Steve. He was preceded in death by father, Walter Geis; and first wife, Barbara Geis. Edward served six years with the US Navy where he played for the baseball and basketball team. Edward worked for Mountain Bell/Qwest for 35 years. Interment of cremated remains will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
