Obituary for MENDEL

Warren Rea Mendel, born in Muncie, Indiana in 1921, served his country after Pearl Harbor from 1941 to 1945 in the United States Navy. He married Lois Jane Radford before his entry into the Navy and after his discharge he worked many years in the construction industry in California and eventually used his construction knowledge to lobby for the construction trades in the California Legislature. He loved his work and finally retired from Mendel & Associates at the age of 80 years old at which time he went to Maine. In late 2006 he moved to Albuquerque after surgery to be close to his kids. He died peacefully in his home on Saturday, October 3, 2009. He is survived by a brother and three sisters and his son, Mark O. Mendel, his daughter-in-law, Mary Mendel; his granddaughters, Jessica and Elizabeth; and his daughter, Marcia J. Schick, all living in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Committal Service for Mr. Mendel will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
