Obituary for MONTANO

Irene Montano, 82, resident of Albuquerque, went home to be with the Lord and her husband on Monday, September 14, 2009. She is survived by four sons, Art and wife, Jo, Ralph and Barbara, Ruben and wife, Lynn, and Mark and wife, Angie; two daughters, Margaret and husband, Louie, and Edwina and husband, Donald; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Willie and wife, Rose Lopez; and several nieces and nephews. Irene was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Lucio Montano; and two grandchildren. She loved her grandchildren, music, plants, flowers and dancing. Irene was instrumental in helping to raise her grandchildren. She was a very loving person who always welcomed people into her home. Irene also had a love for cats. She is now home with her husband whom she loved dearly and has missed for the past ten months. A rosary will be recited Wednesday, September 16, 2009, 7:00 p.m., at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, September 17, 2009, 10:00 a.m., at San Jose Parish, 2401 Broadway Blvd. SE. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Sam, Michael, Artie, Lawrence, Steven and Kris.
