Obituary for WHITE

Robert Lee White of Belen, New Mexico, beloved father and friend, passed away on September 5, 2009, at the age of 85. Bob was born on April 15, 1924 in Hannibal, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Mary Willa (White) McOwan; and his loving wife, Marcella Santistevan White. During his service in WWII, he served with the 487th Bomb Group, USAAF. Bob was a man of many facets - a boy scout, a swimmer, a diver, a golfer, a bowler, a pool player, a photographer, an outdoorsman, a dog lover, a dancer, a railroader, and a Cowboy fan. Bob had a great zest for life, with energy and strength that belied his age. Those who knew Bob will remember a cantankerous exterior and just beneath - a sweet, sensitive joyful man who dearly loved his family and friends. He is survived by his children, Pam Sandoval and husband Gary of Rio Rancho, Steven White and wife Eileen of Albuquerque, Karen White Pargin and husband Robert of Pagosa Springs, CO; grandchildren, Mackenzie Unale and husband Anthony, David Sandoval, Steven White, Jr., Ben Pargin, and Ava Pargin; great-granchildren Baleigh and Aiden Unale; Bob also played a large role in raising the children of his late wife, Marcy. They are Thomas Edeal of Los Lunas, Dennis Edeal and wife Valerie of Rio Rancho, Laurie Boyce and husband Brad of Tijeras, Deborah Norman and husband Chris of Los Lunas; step-grandchildren, T.J. Edeal, Chloe Edeal, Connor Edeal, Emma Norman, Jewelles Edeal, Claire Norman, and Mary Boyce. Bob will be laid to rest with his wife Marcie on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
