Agapita Tafoya, 94, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, September 6, 2009. She is survived by her son, Gabino Griego; daughters, Mary Alice Chavez and Mary Lou Zamora and husband, Rupert; 13 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Emma Sedillo and Bennie Gallegos. She was preceded in death by her son, Ricardo Tafoya; mother, Eloisa Tafoya; and sisters, Virginia Anzures and Molly Tafoya. Agapita loved to do needlework, crochet, and was an excellent seamstress. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, September 11, 2009, 10:30 a.m., at St. Therese Little Flower Church, 300 Mildred Ave. NW. Mass of Christian Burial will follow the rosary at 11:00 a.m. Viewing will be at 10:00 a.m. preceding the rosary. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul NE. Pallbearers will by Jerry Chavez, Jr., Eugene Chavez, Paul Lopez, Jesus Sedillo, Jacob Zamora, and Ron Glaser. Honorary pallbearer will be Fernando Griego, Jr. The family wishes to especially thank Dr. Quito Carr and staff for the excellent care for Mrs. Tafoya during these last few months.
