Luis (Louis) Arguelles, 50, beloved brother, uncle, great-uncle, friend and "Uncle Louie" to many, passed way on Saturday, August 22, 2009 in Rio Rancho, NM. Louie was born in El Paso, Texas and resided in Albuquerque, Las Cruces and Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fernando and Maria Luisa Arguelles. He is survived by his brother Fernando, wife Barbara and their son Adriel of El Paso, TX; his sister Mary Lou Arguelles-Anderson, husband Jim Anderson, of Albuquerque and their children Richard Anderson, wife Wendy and their children Sebastian and Isabella, and daughter Jaime Anderson-Wells, husband Dan and their children Brooke and Drew; and his sister Patricia Arguelles-Gambino, husband Richard of Albuquerque and their children Ethan Coulter, wife Lydia and their children Naomi and Kara, Gabriel Gambino, wife Jackie and their daughter Julia, Paul David Gambino, Danielle Gambino-Wood, husband Anthony and daughter Rowan, Ashley Gambino and sons Anthony and Dean; and many aunts, uncles and cousins in both El Paso and Albuquerque. Louie was best known for his wit and sense of humor. Louie was the Uncle you always looked forward to seeing, often beginning sentences with, "Don't tell your parents this, but..." He went to our games and activities. He was the guy that made life seem easy and fun, because his life was such an adventure. He was everyone's Uncle Louie, and he loved us all so much. Louie was the type of person that could die twice on the operating table, pull through, and then tell you that YOU are having a bad year. Louie graduated from Austin HS in El Paso, TX, earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, and an Associates of Applied Science in Physical Therapy from Amarillo College. Louis worked as a Physical Therapist and was known as a caring, gentle, upbeat and knowledgeable professional and dearly loved by his patients.
