Obituary for BYBEE

Barbara L. Bybee was born October 11, 1934, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She lived most of her life in Borger and Dallas, Texas, until retiring to Angel Fire, New Mexico, in 1995. In 2000 she moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. She passed away on August 28, 2009, at age 74. She was preceeded in death by her parents, Ira L. and Juanita Davis Edwards; and her grandson Kenneth Gibbon. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Cleburne; daughter Lynne Bybee Gibbon; son Christopher Bybee and wife Colleen; daughter Alice Bybee and partner Susan Miller; her sisters and brothers-in-law Betty Picquet and husband Norman, Madelyn Pons and husband Al, Jo Wilson and husband Jim, Jennifer Miesse and husband John; numerous neices; nephews; and cousins; Grandchildren include Barbara Lynne FitzPatrick and husband Daniel, Katherine Gibbon, Parker Bybee, Will, Danielle and Kayla Hafey, great grandchilren Jake Hafey and Zoey Zeller; and her two therapy Chihuahuas Baby and Sandy. Barbara was an avid tennis player, skier and golfer. She was active in PTA. Her hobbies included painting, sculpting, bargain hunting and watching the Dallas Cowboys. She was office manager for many years of her husband's dental practice in Texas. Barbara was a fun-loving person, who enjoyed the outdoors and time spent with family. We would like to thank the staff of UNM Hospital's Neuro ICU and 5 South Unit for their excellent and compassionate care. Her memorial service was Saturday, September 5, 2009 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In lieu of flowers the family ask that a donation be made in Barbara's name to the Juanita Edwards Scholarship Fund at Frank Phillips College, PO Box 5118, Borger, Texas, 79007.
